The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill is a podcast published by Christianity Today. While the stated goal of the show is to “explore the inside story of this church, its charismatic leader, and the conflicts and troubles that brought about its end”, the show’s execution has raised a lot of questions — namely, is it a genuine attempt to better the church and glorify God, or is it using the collapse of Mars Hill as a vehicle for delivering a very specific progressive agenda?
This week, Peter, Aaron, and guest-hosts Keith Neubert and Adam Clark discuss the podcast, its legitimacy, how Christians should respond to it, and (in general) how to think critically about the information we consume.
“1 Tim 5 is critically important when we talk about this, both publicly, or within your own church. There are so many accusations today, and people do not heed Scripture. There’s a process for this that’s laid out by Paul in Scripture — we don’t have to speculate.” ~ Aaron Currin
