Introducing: Out of Oz

bg_podcasts

Most of us have seen or are familiar with The Wizard of Oz. It’s a story about a girl named Dorothy and her adventures in the land of Oz, a place of wonder and beauty. But all is not as it seems. Beneath the surface, there’s a dark and pernicious evil that exists and must be dealt with.

When we look at Christianity and modern Christian culture in America, we see a lot of parallels. Division, sensationalism, and escapism are everywhere. We bury our heads in the sand and pretend all is well with the world. We act like the Bible is all about us, and about making our lives great and beautiful and wonderful.

But not only is that way of looking at the world unrealistic, it’s also unbiblical.

Out of Oz is a new podcast from Bldg28 Church. Our goal is to peel back the layers of society and examine the world around us with the same themes we saw in The Wizard of Oz — courage, conviction, and compassion.

Each week, hosts Peter Tragos and Aaron Currin (along with a rotating panel of guests) will discuss the issues we face in our everyday lives, and examine how we should deal with them, how we should think about them, and how we should live in light of them.

New episodes drop every Monday, starting October 26.
